1. Cream the butter in a medium bowl until smooth
2. Add in sugar and mix well with a balloon whisk
3. Crack the egg into the bowl along with a dash of vanilla extra and mix well again
4. Sift the baking powder, flour and matcha powder into the bowl
5. Mix until combined thoroughly, the consistency should be thick and slightly sticky
6. Put on a piece of plastic wrap, mold into a long strip and wrap up
7. Leave dough in the fridge for about half an hour or until set
8. Pre-heat oven to 170 degrees celcius
9. Take the dough of the fridge and cut into 24 even portions
10. Put one piece of chocolate into the centre of the dough and roll it into a ball, then flatten slightly in the centre with your finger
11. Line a tray with foil (you don’t need to oil it as it won’t stick) and lay out the dough
12. Cook in the pre-heated oven for about 10-12 minutes
13 .Cool on a cooling rack slightly before consuming

- 100g unsalted butter, room temperature
- 50g brown sugar ( I used sugar substitute 1 cup)
- 1 large egg
- vanilla extract
- 160g plain (all purpose) flour
- 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Chocolate of your choice ( chips or chocolate roughly chopped)
